Frequently Asked Questions

Ride Alone Together- Self-Directed Ride

Ride Dates: See here for your Chapter Dates

Will the (Chapter) Ride For Dad group Ride be happening this year?

Option 1 – Due to COVID 19 social distancing measures 2020 Ride has been postponed until (See dates on Chapter Dates page). The organizing committee is working on different scenarios so that a modified Ride For Dad group event can take place this year. What the Ride will entail is not known right now and will depend on what is permitted under the social distancing rules. The health and safety of our volunteers, participants and the community are our top priority.

Option 2 – Due to COVID 19 social distancing measures and local event bans the 2020 Ride For Dad group event has been postponed until 2021. The (Chapter) organizing committee is asking all those who usually participate in the group event, raise funds and keep the (Chapter) fight against prostate cancer going strong.

In the meantime, we encourage previous participants, and those who have never been part of Ride For Dad to register for the Ride Alone Together program, raise pledges and hit road, solo or in a small group to fight prostate cancer.

What is a self-directed Ride?

A self-directed Ride is a personalized version of traditional charity motorcycle rides and rallies, where riders pay a registration fee, raise pledges for a cause, follow a predetermined route and most importantly…have fun!

The Ride Founders will explain

Telus Motorcycle Ride For Dad events raise money to fund local prostate cancer research and awareness projects. If we can’t Ride as a large group, we will Ride Alone Together, united in the fight against prostate cancer.

How can I find the Ride route?

After Riders register for Ride Alone Together, they will be e-mailed a suggested route, designated selfie locations and other information regarding local promotions or activities. Riders are encouraged to share their favourite routes and spots on social media throughout the summer.

When can I Ride?

Unlike the annual Ride For Dad event, registered participants can ride on the day and time of their choice.

Fundraising can continue until October 5, 2020 in order to qualify for the Ride For Dad Grand Prize of an African Motorcycle sightseeing trip valued at over $10,000.
