Captain’s Club 2019
Captain’s Club 2019
It is with great pleasure that we post the Captain’s Club list for the 2019 season!
Please note we have pared down the list to just members who have been active in the last five years. Not to worry, you are a Captain’s Club Member for life, all other names can be found in the Archive List.
Membership in the Captain’s Club is the prestigious honour attained by Riders and Champions who have acquired a total of $1,000 or more in pledges.
These people represent the very backbone of our fight against prostate cancer.
Once a member acquires a total of at least $1,000 in pledges they enter the Club at the Bronze level. Members have the opportunity to work their way up to Silver, Gold, three levels of Diamond and finally into the Platinum level of over $100,000. These pledges are tracked year over year and from Ride to Ride and the funds raised are cumulative.
For Captain’s Club Members
Numbers have been tallied for 2019 and the lists we posted have once again revealed some amazing statistics. Again this year we have two members (Roddy Edwards and Robert Stanely) who have crossed the $50,000.00 threshold to be awarded Triple Diamond status.
Incredibly, a total of 10 members passed the $25,000 mark to reach Double Diamond, which is double last year’s number. The ranks of Diamond (over $10,000) which went up a record 19 new members last year, blew that away in 2019 with a total of 30 new members !
Be sure to check the list for all our new members and those that have moved up to Gold (56) and Silver (89).
In all this year, 183 members moved up a level or more and another 132 entered the Captain’s Club for the first time.
Our Captain’s Club now has a total of 3,947 members, who have raised just over 17.2 million dollars! Congratulations!
This year again, we have posted a separate list, ranking the 2019 contributions only. Some of our members had pointed out, that with the large spreads between levels, especially at the higher levels, it creates a situation where riders can bring in substantial amounts of donations but because it didn’t trigger a level change, their efforts were not celebrated nationally.
So we created a list of the totals brought in just this year alone. Lynn Norton tops the list with an amazing $29,016.00 brought to the cause for 2019 !
The Captain’s Club data is updated annually and we are constantly working to create the most accurate lists possible for you. Again this year we are posting two main versions of the entire list: one ranks the members by levels and a second version with the members names listed alphabetically. Within those lists, we have used a colour-coded system to indicate new members (green) and those members that have moved up a level or more (blue). In addition to being recorded in the master list, we have posted members an additional list for the ATV, Snowmobile and Watercraft Rides, this is to make it easier for you to find yourself and access your position within your Division.
When entering the Club, you are issued a Captains Club Number, please take note of your CC number and use it whenever you are registering pledges. Keep it handy, as it will be soon be your passport to special savings in our on-line store and access to a unique line of Captain’s Club items. Be sure to check it out at RideForDadstore.ca
Thanks again and Congratulations to all our Captain’s Club members for all your efforts in the fight against Prostate Cancer with the TELUS Ride For Dad and the Prostate Cancer Fight Foundation.

About the Captain’s Club
The Captains’ Club is designed to acknowledge and recognize those riders who consistently participate in TELUS Ride For Dad events and raise pledges. The Captain’s Club database tracks the participant year over year and from ride location to ride location, capturing a cumulative total of funds raised; award packages are based on that total. The awards package consists of a Bronze, Silver, Gold or Diamond(s), Platinum(s) pin, patch and decal.
The level of recognition is based on the amount of accumulated funds raised:
|TRIPLE PLATINUM||$500,000 and over|
